Privacy Policy

Effective: May 20, 2026 · Last updated: May 20, 2026

The short version: RIDR doesn't collect, store, sell, share, or transmit your personal data. Your service records, ride logs, photos, and bike information live in your own iCloud account — we never see them. We don't run analytics, show ads, or use third-party tracking.

1. Who we are

RIDR ("RIDR," "we," "us," "our") is a mobile application published by WJS Enterprises, LLC, a Georgia limited liability company. Our contact email is support@ridr.net.

This Privacy Policy explains what information RIDR handles, what it does (and doesn't do) with it, and your rights regarding it.

2. What data RIDR handles

RIDR is a motorcycle maintenance log. To do its job, it works with the following categories of information that you create as you use the app:

Information you enter

  • Bike information: make, model, year, VIN (optional), mileage, photos, specs, custom notes.
  • Service records: dates, types of service, mileage, parts, costs, vendors, notes, receipt photos.
  • Ride logs: GPS routes, dates, distance, durations (only when you start a ride).
  • Schedules and reminders: service intervals you configure.
  • Emergency contacts (Safety SMS): names and phone numbers you choose to add.

Information processed on-device

  • Receipt photos: The OCR (optical character recognition) that reads your receipts runs entirely on your iPhone using Apple's Vision framework. Receipt images and extracted data are not sent to RIDR or any third party.
  • VIN scans: Same — processed on-device by Apple's frameworks.
  • Ride GPS data: Recorded by your device. Used to calculate distance and route. Not transmitted to RIDR.
  • HealthKit data (optional): If you grant permission, RIDR can log workouts and heart rate to Apple Health during rides. We do not see or receive this data.

3. Where your data lives

All of your RIDR data is stored in your own private iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit infrastructure. This means:

  • Your data syncs across your devices (iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch) automatically through Apple's encrypted services.
  • Your data is protected by your Apple ID's security — including two-factor authentication if you have it enabled.
  • RIDR cannot read or access your iCloud data. We have no servers receiving it.
  • If you sign out of iCloud or stop using RIDR, your data remains in your iCloud unless you delete it.

If you have questions about how Apple handles iCloud data, see Apple's iCloud privacy policy at apple.com/legal/privacy.

4. What we don't do

We want this to be clear and specific:

  • We don't sell your data. There is no buyer because there is no data on our end to sell.
  • We don't share your data with advertisers or partners. No advertising networks. No data brokers. No analytics partnerships.
  • We don't run analytics. No Mixpanel, no Amplitude, no Google Analytics, no Firebase Analytics, nothing equivalent.
  • We don't use third-party tracking SDKs. No Facebook SDK, no AppsFlyer, no Adjust, no Branch, no equivalent.
  • We don't show ads. The app contains no advertising, third-party or otherwise.
  • We don't have user accounts. There's no signup, no password, no email collection on our end. RIDR uses your existing Apple ID through iCloud.
  • We don't track you across apps or websites.

5. Permissions RIDR requests

iOS asks your permission before RIDR can access certain device features. You can change any of these permissions at any time in your iPhone's Settings → Privacy & Security. Here's what each permission is for:

Camera

Used to scan VINs and receipts. Photos taken in the app are stored as part of your service records in your iCloud — not sent to RIDR or any third party.

Photo Library (if granted)

Lets you choose existing photos to attach to bikes or service records. Only photos you explicitly select are read by the app.

Location

Used for ride tracking. Location is only recorded when you start a ride in the app. You can choose to share location while using the app, or always (for background ride tracking). Location data stays on your device and in your iCloud — it's not sent to RIDR.

HealthKit (optional)

If you grant permission, RIDR can save workout sessions and heart rate data from your Apple Watch to Apple Health during rides. This is read and written through Apple's HealthKit — we don't see it.

Notifications

Used to send you reminders for upcoming service intervals. Notifications are generated locally on your device.

Contacts (Safety SMS)

If you use the Safety SMS feature to set up emergency contacts, RIDR may request access to your iPhone's Contacts to make selection easier. Contact information you add is stored locally and in your iCloud — not sent to RIDR.

6. Children's privacy

RIDR is rated 17+ on the App Store and is not intended for use by children. We do not knowingly collect any information from anyone under 17. If you believe a child has somehow used RIDR in a way that resulted in data being shared with us (which would be unusual given how the app works), please contact us at support@ridr.net.

7. Your rights

Because your data lives in your own iCloud and not on our servers, you already have complete control over it. You can:

  • View it: Open the app on any of your devices.
  • Edit it: Every record is editable within the app.
  • Delete it: Delete individual records, bikes, or rides in the app. To delete all RIDR data, delete the app from your device and clear its iCloud container from your Apple ID settings.
  • Export it: Export functionality (PDF and full data export) is coming in a future release. Contact us if you need data exported in the meantime.

For California residents (CCPA/CPRA)

Because we do not collect or store your personal information on our servers, we have no "sale" or "sharing" of your data to opt out of. You have no data with us to access, delete, or correct — because we don't have any. If this changes in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated.

For users in the European Economic Area (GDPR)

Similar to the above: because we do not act as a data controller or processor for any of your data (it lives in your own iCloud account managed by Apple), GDPR's traditional data subject rights apply to your relationship with Apple, not with us. Apple's iCloud terms cover your rights with respect to your iCloud data.

8. Apple's role

RIDR uses Apple's iCloud and CloudKit for data storage and sync. Apple is the data processor for your data. Their privacy practices, including the protections they offer for iCloud, are described in Apple's privacy policy at apple.com/legal/privacy.

For App Store transactions (purchases, subscriptions, refunds), Apple is the merchant of record. We do not process payments or store payment information.

9. Security

Your RIDR data is protected by the security of your iCloud account — Apple's end-to-end encryption for many CloudKit data types, plus the protections of your Apple ID password and two-factor authentication.

We recommend that you:

  • Use a strong Apple ID password
  • Enable two-factor authentication on your Apple ID
  • Use a device passcode (and Face ID / Touch ID where supported)
  • Keep your devices' iOS up to date

10. Third-party links

RIDR may contain links to third-party websites (this website, Apple support pages, etc.). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of any third-party services you visit.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If we make material changes that affect how your data is handled, we will provide additional notice through the app or by other reasonable means.
